Svenska Dagbladet magazine has published an article by Stephen Schad, chairman of the Umbrella Employment Organization, as a response to an debate article by The Swedish Unemployment funds regarding a parliamentary inquiry.
The response article emphasizes the limitations of the parliamentary inquiry in creating predictability and security for the contract-based workforce. In order to create a long-term sustainable job market, self-employing and other contract-based workers must be given the right to unemployment benefits.
It’s clear that the effort to create a fair unemployment insurance that harmonizes with modern forms of work must continue. Please read the article in its entirety in Swedish here.
