Stephen Schad, chairman in the Umbrella Employment organization, writes in a debate article about the need for a modern unemployment benefit fund and the background to the initiative Uppdragsarbetarnas a-kassa.
In the article, Stephen writes that the task-based workforce should be protected in a double sense – partly in terms of ensuring decent working conditions, and also in terms of not dismissing its existence as unnecessary or forced. For it is just as important that the progress of the gig economy must not happen at the expense of Swedish workers’ conditions, it is just as important to listen to the labor market and the needs of its workers.
The debate article is behind a pay wall, but if you are a subscriber to Upsala Nya Tidning, it can be read in its entirety in Swedish here.
