Statement of Opinion in response to a parliamentary committee report as part of the inquiry on the state of the Swedish unemployment funds

On the 30th of October 2020 the formal referral round as part of the parliamentary inquiry on the Swedish unemployment funds was completed. Frilans Finans, a member of The Umbrella Employment Organization, was one of the parties invited to comment and provide a statement of opinion on the findings of the inquiry.

The statement of opinion emphasizes that the inquiry has not accomplished its aim to create predictability for the contract based workforce, despite the fact that this was highlighted in the inquiry directives. Instead, the recommendations formulated in the inquiry once again has left umbrella-employing and other task-based workers to contend with unpredictable assessment procedures which follow from an arbitrary and old legal precedent which is decades out of date. In order to accommodate the need for predictability legal guidelines are required for independent contract workers such as umbrella-employed workers.

Please read the statement of opinion in its entirety here.
